About Us
Our Medical School Mission
Our mission to to help you become a doctor.
Inspired by ambition and service Asclepius Advising welcomes all medical school applicants especially:
– non-traditional applicants
– working adult (career-changer) applicants
– re-applicants
– and applicants who’ve previously struggled in their academics or test-taking
We know that the medical school admissions prerequisites are daunting. We know that the medical school admissions timeline seems long.
That being said, YOUR journey through the medical school admissions process becomes a lot shorter and easier with Asclepius advisors.
Why US—and how we work
At Asclepius Advising, we offer unique strengths: direct expert advisor work, uncommon undergraduate backgrounds, and advanced strategy. Our clients work directly with experienced advisors—not junior staff—with academic backgrounds in Philosophy and German Studies. This gives them unique expertise in the ethical framing of narratives, deep personal storytelling, and powerful analytical writing.
We also understand how admissions committees actually read and score applications. That means we don’t waste time overwriting or underwriting—every word is purposeful, effective, and grounded in strategy. Our aggressive use of data helps us calibrate applicant timelines and profile strengths for maximum admissions outcomes. We move efficiently because we know the process inside and out.
But more than just guiding applicants—we mentor them. We are transparent in how we approach each draft, empowering clients to not only finish their materials but grow as writers in the process. Our clients walk away not just with polished secondaries and personal statements, but with new confidence in their writing and thinking.
At Asclepius Advising, we don’t just advise; we elevate.
Our Team
Meet Michael Rubsamen

Michael Rubsamen is a graduate of Whitman College and a current Tulane MD+MPH student. Michael comes from a generational medical family and is proud to be growing their legacy in medicine. Leveraging his success into a post-bacc at Case Western, Michael is working hard at Tulane to bring experienced advising to future physicians. He uses his time well at Tulane balancing Ethics Bowl and learning from his professors the true stand-out points of applications in an evolving era of medicine.
